Lough Cuan Bowmen is an archery club based in Newtownards, Co. Down. Celebrating our 21st year in 2008 the club promotes archery as a competitive sport and a recreation except for hunting (it is illegal to hunt any creature with a bow and arrow in most EEC countries) and is affiliated to the Northern Ireland Archery Society, the Grand National Archery Society and the Fédération Internationale de Tir à l'Arc

Friendly and welcoming we do not take ourselves too seriously yet this does not mean that the club does not have success - we have among our members local, national and even world champions and record holders.

We offer 'have-a-go' events for Youth to O.A.P. Groups, Schools, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, local Fairs to Corporate Events (contact us). We run frequent classes for Beginners who want to experience the sport under a qualified coach and who may want to take it up.  We also welcome new members who are already experienced in archery .  Our Members practice Field as well as Target archery in all styles - Long-Bow, Traditional, Recurve and Compound and several are members of other organisations such as the British Long-Bow Society and the Traditional Archery Society of Ireland.
