22/11/2009 Loughry College FITA Unmarked The forecast rain for the morning did not arrive until after lunchtime but, while heavy, did not last for the promised 5 hours. Strong winds caused problems on some targets but the course was by in large sheltered with slippery slopes. Results
08/11/2009 Gilford Castle FITA Mixed The midges don't realise that the Summer is supposed to be over! Mild, dry weather had them out at the beginning of November. A number of changes to many targets and a few shots which haven't been used for a while. Scores for the Marked 12 can be entered in the UK Marked Round League Results
25/10/2009 Turkington's Ganaway FITA Mixed A new venue - an extensive plantation of various species of trees with abundant wild life. The sight of buzzards floating down the pathways between the trees made the day worthwhile even without the archers who had made considerable effort to come in fancy dress. As usual John Kenny had devised unusual rules. The morning had a variety of faces, all within the specification for their respective rounds, while the afternoon was a FITA Unmarked. Results
17-18/10/2009 Loughbrickland Coolnacran Classic FITA Mixed Saturday - brilliant sunshine, calm - great day for a shoot. Sunday - cooler, dull and hints of rain. At least the autumn colours were a good show with many trees still bearing leaf. Results
04/10/2009 BallyVally Big Game Sunny spells . The midge population of N. Ireland was out at Loughbrickland in the morning but a hint of rain after lunch reduced their biting power. No stamina!. Results
27/09/2009 Gilford Castle FITA Unmarked Mainly dry with only a hint of rain after lunch. Remarkably mild for the time of year. Results
06/09/2009 Gilford Castle FITA Unmarked Course organised by Lough Cuan following the kind offer by Banbridge. The bridge at Hydebank being damaged and unsafe John Kenny set had his own take on peg positions and face sizes. Constant rain untill just after lunch, slippery underfoot where there were cobbles or tree roots. Results
23/08/2009 Loughry College National Animal The 1st foray into Field Archery for Take A Bow. A very grey, wet and windy weekend. If anyone would like to contribute more to the report as I could not make this shoot please do so. Results
09/08/2009 Gilford Castle FITA Unmarked Results
26/07/2009 Gilford Castle FITA Unmarked small (but select) turnout. With the Junior Championships in Wales moved from the published date in August to this weekend numbers were, understandably, depleted. A heavy, but brief, shower fell after lunch otherwise the day was fine with sunny spells. Course design Brendan Byrne & Gilbert McClelland? Results
19/07/2009 Ards Rugby Grounds Ulster Forester/FITA U/M Scheduled as a 3D at Hydebank this had to be changed at the last minute. Someone, it would appear driving a 4x4 vehicle and using the forest without permission, damaged the stone bridge we use for access. An alternative way in was sought but we did not hear from the authorities in time. Venue switched to Ards Rugby grounds where the open fields gave no reference for sighting. The weather was fair. Course set by John Kenny Results
04/07/2009 Ards Rugby Grounds American & FITA 70 What better day to hold an American! Sunny spells with heavy, threatening cloud around early afternoon but no rain. A strong, gusty wind from the South blowing from left to right caused problems for some. Results
28/06/2009 Gortnamoyagh Big Game. The Danny Boy with other attractions throughout the Provence there was a low turnout. Those who did get there were treated to a Big game with 6 extra 3D targets thrown in a la hunting trail. Philippe does admit that the 27m squirrel was a bit harsh..................... Results
21/06/2009 Gilford FITA Unmarked 1x24 Overcast with a hint of rain at lunch. Again the overnight heavy rain did not persist. Results
